Deafness

Rohil Chopra Does anybody have an idea of the incidence of hearing loss in dogs and cats?

    • Saurabh Saxena congenital hearing loss in polka dotted dalmations n otherwise is common...but acquired deafness i am nt so sure..perhaps more expeienced colleagues wud throw sum light..

    • Madhurita Gupta Hearing impairement is common in aged patients and breed specific in dogs as well as u hav mentioned , I have nt seen any case of cat with hearing impairement.

    • Rohil Chopra Thank you Dr.Saurabh, Dr.Swarupmay and Dr.Madhurita. Could you also tell me if audiological tests like Brain Stem Evoked Response Audiometry (BERA) have been performed in pets, esp. in pediatric cases?
