Leptospirosis

Viju Vijayan canine , 2 years, presented with vomiting and anorexia since 2 days. not able to bear weight on hind limbs., dehydrated
temp- 103
u/s
liver enlarged,
kidney- no demarkation between cortex and medulla, seems enlarged,
urinary incontinence noticed. urine yellow color, severe respiratory distress
tx
benzyl pencilin, fluids, deriphylline
could it be leptospirosis???
serum send for biochemistry

      Tdx: ICH/ Leptospirosis/ E.canis/ Dehydrations/ Fatty liver/
      take blood , check for TC,DC,Platellet, Hb,creatinine,ALP...
      treat symtomatically as u are doing. at this point nothing much is clear. enlarged livers on USG are very common due to food habbits. urinary incontinence may be due to Dehydration. Give fluid properly. Avoid DNS and RL.use M

    • Swarupmay Majumdar maintenance fluid. it has everything.. fluid water, dextrose, salt, electrolytes. balnced it is avl as M. There is another variation avl as P. for paediatrics use.
