PE-potbellied appearance, no dehydration. fever-103. self treated by owner for two to three days with nimesulide. Vaccination going on from some other vet, deworming as claimed by the owner done.
today fever 103, stools normal but with a blackish tinge, activity slightly improved, vomited early in the morning. blood tests awaited. currently he is on ceftriaxone, analgin, metoclopramide, ranintidine and b-cplex. need suggestions, thanks in advance

      28 April at 12:44 · ·
    • Darsha Mapatuna yes 35 days pups can get tick fever. for that age chloramphenicol is is the best drug we can used
      28 April at 13:56 · ·
    • Swarupmay Majumdar actually, as per knowlege its above 60 days! ref: 5 min vet consultant. but I think it could be.

    • Mahalingam Muralithas with ur patient's c/s, most probably dog may have distemper. but we need some history such the that dog showed any respiratory signs like couhing and other nasal discharges.
      30 April at 16:17 · ·
    • Nassem N. Naimi
I am thinking actually as Mahalingam :) I am more into Distember. one tick is not enough to say Tick fever, so it is maybe a miss leading sign. so lets go wider.
And the dog mayn't show respiratory signs
a simple thing you can ask for if the dog got better then a recurrence happened
like if the puppy got fever before (calm and off food fore a couple of days) then he again looked like healthy or now if they returned back to you telling you that the fever is back.
