Ascitis

Swarupmay Majumdar male golden retriever 3 yrs age, with history off inappetance and abdominal swellings presents with Hb 11, Tc 8600,plat 1.37,Bun 11, creat 0.7, ASt 48,ALt 41, total protein 4! scan suggests ascitic fluid.
Seems like PLE! suggest me

    • Sushil Kumar Paudel What about temperature, heart rate and heart sound(any murmur?), pulse deficit? for me, it looks like non-infectious, more likely Heart related, x-ray of chest and abdomen might add some clue to some extent! if possible better to go for echo/ecg.

    • Rajshankar Tony Sarma I presume that by "abdo swellings" you mean that the abdomen is swelling with fluid rather than that you can feel masses?

      Low protein: lack of production or huge loss.

      PLE usually has a chronic history and diarrhoea.
