    • Gagan Gaudi if dog is bitten by rabies suspected dog, follow the complete course, what ever the age is.
regarding the brand ARV from Virbac is good one as they have the f virus titre according to WHO, as the company claims.

    • Sumit Virmani ‎@ Dr. Gagan : By "complete course", do you mean 5 shots, as in human post-exposure cases, on days 0, 3, 7, 14 & 30 ??

and if he dog is completely vaccinated i usually go for 1 (if bitten with in 6 months of ARV), and 3 (if bitten after 6 months of ARV). BUt here we r talking abt unvaccinated pup

      Thanks Dr Gagan.

So in a nutshell, when presented with a post exposure unvaccinated animal (pup or otherwise), we should go for 5 shots of Virbac (or any other specific brand) on 0,3, 7, 14, 28/30 days.

    • Gagan Gaudi never used it but have heard being used in humans, very costly, have to be injected deeply directly into the wound
      09 July at 06:04 ·
    • Sumit Virmani Equine derived anti-rabies-Ig's are cheaper than Human derived ones, but are costly nevertheless.

In my opinion, they may be used if the owner complies/requests.
