Antibiotics used for cats

Swarupmay Majumdar Enrofloxacin can cause blindness in cats, gentamicin not a very good choice in many cases and post littering, clindamycin -very hepatotoxic and of limited use, cephadex used sporadicly .. but Amoxyclav is preferable above anything as antibiotics for cats. Can someone from our vet friends ,please, tell us how to chose an antibiotics for cat? I feel I need some suggestions

    • Gautam Unny i choose an antibiotic based on the hydration status of the patient. if the patient is well hydrated i prefer genta or amikacin. Ii use ceftriaxone when the owner can come only once a day. for oral use i prefer amoxy-clav
