      canine normal T4=20-52nmol/L or 15-40ng/ml
      T3=1.2-3.1nmol/L or 0.8-2ng/ml
      t4 is more reliable than t3.T3 is usually normal in even Hypothyrd dogs but T4 usually below normal.Actually to tell the truth,Free T4 is best indiactive ,its just 1/10...See more

    • Cyril Roy The values seem to be similar to that of horses (T4=20, T3=1). What i remember is that T3 is produced in the pheripheral systems like the muscles particularly in horses( I do not know about dogs though). So in horses T4 could be potentially more useful. But i agree with Swarupmay that normally lab tests for these conditions are least useful because these values has not been validated properly for each disease condition. The lab results can be just guidelines...

    • Joseph Cyrus JUst to make a point the reference should come from the veterinary lab. Please note t3, t4 and tsh are species specific and the only canine associated lab is the metropolis group in mumbai who do it!
