Vestibular syndrome

Ashwin Nambiar A 14 year old cross breed dog brought with the complaint of a left head tilt and horizontal nystagmus since the previous day. slightly ataxic and wayward gait. previous history of otitis a few months back. even now wax present in both ears along with erythema. we suspected vestibular infection which could have spread from the ear.
Haematology and serum biochem - normal
Rx with Inj Ceftriaxone, inj dexamethasone, vit. B-complex for 5 days. almost complete resolution of signs observed.
any other posibil diff diagnoses, lines of treatment, diagnostic tests which could or should have been undertaken?
