    • Swarupmay Majumdar CAN IT BE RELATED TO Rabies? neutrophil counts of above 90% can be indicative of rabies? anyway my supervising vet treated the case as CD and left no time in telling that it is untreatable. I believed it is a case of mengioencephalitis.

    • Swarupmay Majumdar what antibiotics toi start? I used Oxytetracycline 10mg/kg IV with Ceftriaxone tazobactum 25mg/kg iv with InJ RL @ 20ml/kg. Dexamethasone 1ml Iv ,rantac, and Meloxicam.

    • Gautam Unny i would have avoided dexamethasone at this stage with such a high tlc. ceftriaxone is a good choice. Rabies should have no correlation with such blood reports. still its a bad case to get both for the vet and the client.

yes but whow would you go ahead with this type of case where temp is so high and relapsing. Can i use multiple antibiotics?
I had a case of siberian husky with 106 temp with voimting and loosemotions, nothing worked. It had lood in stool. suspected for ICH and died.

In such temp can I use crocin syp tid? If no steroids ,are there any other options?

    • Gautam Unny after avoiding any bacteriostatic and cidal combinations, i go ahead and choose the best two. in my experience, single antibiotic therapy is now history. im quite happy with novalgin and would prefer prednisolone to dexamethasone aany day. also novalgin can be given i/v so its effects are great.
