Dressing a paw wound

Swarupmay Majumdar ‎2 yrs old, male intact,Dalmation immunization uptodate,brought with a small ulcer in the paws( 1 inch wide, deep into red muscles!) which is not infected as the dog keeps licking it. he limps a bit , licks it and has no other problems. All Vitals Temp. HR, PR stable.
what is the line of treatment? Going with cephalexin (Lixen meltab 600mg once a day po as per product leaflet) + soft tollu grass (Chlorhexidine ) bandage. Given a dose of predni too. adv to bring for dressing again

    • Gautam Unny i prefer using a e collar in all cases where the dog rips of the bandage. healing is never possible with constant licking of a wound.

    • Saurabh Saxena take an old sock,cut in b/w and cover the paw over bandage and tape up the sock.if he allows for two days ,the wound wud heal
