    • Swarupmay Majumdar I fear honey will attract more flies than bees and cause more maggots, anyway, if it works for u , why not try?

    • Sushil Kumar Paudel of course thats one complication of using honey, but if we can prevent/ or bandage it up, then its more effective then any other antimicrobial cream, and also wound healing occurs so fast.

    • Swarupmay Majumdar so how do u apply it? mix with some thing? and do u put bandage on them?is it an approved method in KLM?

    • Sushil Kumar Paudel if the wound is dirty, it can be used only when we make the wound clean, lets say after 1, 2 days of cleaning and flushing.............. we can use directly on wound without mixing, and if the area is likely to contaminate after cleaning then we can put bandage, otherwise we can leave it open.

    • Sushil Kumar Paudel but honey must be pure, should not be mixed with sugar.....LOL!

    • Sumit Virmani It works by absorbing moisture (osmotic effect by very high sugar content) and inhibiting bacterial growth. Pure honey never gets contaminated even at room temperature because of the same reason.

I used to use honey especially while I was working with equine then I combined Sugar with Iodine (cheaper) and i got perfect results on hoof abscess.
I have a rabbit case 2morrow with a docked tail (rabbit fight) so I will see if the owner will like the idea.
