    • Premal Darji yes,,it can b used..but only if required u use it..like if u feel the wound isnt healing that well with conventional methods..mixing potassium permagnet in NS. very little..to make the water light pink(not very dark)..can b used to clean the wounds daily..thr is one manglorian ayurvedic oil- kempanna oil..i found it very useful to heal wounds ..specially deep wounds, mainly dogbites..i hav used it on myself also.

    • Rajshankar Tony Sarma Gautam is right - before covering the wound, make sure the wound bed is healthy. If just a small wound and no damage anticipated to deeper tissues, I may leave and just give antibiosis/analgesia; however, if big wounds, revert to standard open wound management before planning closure.

    • Gautam Unny i always take a dog bite to be like a syringe filled with pus being injected into the skin. a dogs tooth is like the needle filled with pus.so even when i see a small opening on the skin surface of a single tooth mark, often i open it with a small incision to increase the area for washing. in my experience i have seen that small openings in a dbw often lead to deep fistulas later

      23 July at 16:01 ·
    • Swarupmay Majumdar Capnocytophaga is a bacteria that causes periodontal disease and bite wounds from animal bites.this is also formerly known as dysgonic fermenter 2 (DF2). It is is a fastidious, Gram-negative rod that forms part of the normal oral flora of dogs. This is in reference to Dr Joseph's enquiry but I have read about it , not seen a case so far

    • Joseph Cyrus It is a major organism in an immune comprimised individual man or animal. The only antibiotic that works for it is Amox clav. The death post bite in some cases have been attributed to this in humans and dogs.
